Author Guidelines

General Guidelines for Writers

  1. Manuscripts are the result of dedication. Whether service is carried out by lecturers, students, or government institutions and NGOs.
  2. Manuscripts must be written in English or Indonesian, original (not containing elements of plagiarism) have not been published, and are not being reviewed for possible publication in another journal.
  3. Article titles should be written in no more than 20 words. The title of the article, name of the author or authors, email address, and institution are at the top of the article.
  4. Authors must register as authors. Then log in to send your paper manuscript to the website: https://ejournal.uinmybatusangkar.ac.id/ojs/index.php/marawa/login
  5. The manuscript will be published in MARAWA: Journal of Religious and Insightful Communities after being reviewed by peer-reviewers.

 

Guidelines for Preparing Manuscripts

  1. Title: The title must be short, clear, and informative, but not exceed 20 words, written in Bookman Old Style font, size 13 pts, and Bold. The title must be right on target with the problem or service being discussed. The title of the article does not contain any unusual abbreviations. The main idea should be written first, then the explanation.
  2. Author: The author's name is written without an academic degree or position in Bookman old style font, size 12 pts and bold
  3. Institution: The name of the institution and email are written in Times New Roman font, size 11 pts, and italic.
  4. Abstract: The abstract is written in one paragraph with a minimum of 100 and a maximum of 250 words. Written in Garamond format, size 11 pts, 1 space. The abstract must provide a relevant general description of the service: 1) Background: Place the question being discussed in a broad context; 2) Objectives: Identify the aims and objectives of the service; 3) Method: Briefly explain the main method or theoretical framework applied; 4) Results: Summarize the findings/results of service; and (5) Conclusion: Indicate conclusions and suggestions.
  5. Keywords: Keywords consist of 3 – 5 words that are related and specific to the article; but are quite common in scientific disciplines; use lowercase letters except for names.
  6. Manuscript: The manuscript format from Introduction to Conclusion is written in Book Antiqua font, size 12 pts, single spaced and on A4 paper.   7. Introduction: The introduction is written using Book Antiqua typeface, size 12 with 1 space, using references from the last 10 years. The introduction should briefly place the dedication in its broad context and highlight why it is important. It should explain the purpose of the work and its significance. The current state of the field of service should be reviewed carefully, and relevant important service publications should be cited. Please highlight controversial and different hypotheses when appropriate. Finally, briefly state the main purpose of this service and highlight the conclusion. As much as possible, please keep the introduction understandable to scholars outside your field of service. Technical terms must be defined. Symbols, abbreviations, and acronyms should be defined the first time they are used. All tables and figures must be cited in numerical order.
  8. Method: The method is written using Book Antiqua font size 12 with 1 space. The dedication contains an explanation of the approach used in the service. Subject of service, procedures, or techniques for carrying out service. Then, also write down the use of materials and instruments, data collection, and analysis techniques if any.
  9. Results and Discussion: Results and discussion are written using Book Antiqua font size 12 with 1 space. The results and discussions obtained must be explained clearly and supported by sufficient data. The results of service and discovery must be answers or service hypotheses that have been stated previously in the introduction.
  10. Conclusion: The conclusion is written using Book Antiqua font size 12 with 1 space. The conclusion must answer the purpose of the service and the results of the service. Closing notes should not only contain a repetition of results and discussion or an abstract. You should also suggest future services that will be performed.
  11. Quotations: One of the characteristics of scientific articles is presenting other people's ideas to strengthen and enrich the author's ideas. The main sources for writing are journals, proceedings, theses, and research reports published in the last 10 years. For citation references, use the Reference Application (Mendeley) with style: American Psychological Association (APA), bodynote format containing the author's name, year of publication, and page cited, for example: (Iska, 2005: 47) or (Aris, 2022) or (Michalowska et al., 2019) or (Cichocka, 2016; Hidayat & Khalika, 2019; Ikhwan, 2019; Madjid, 2002) or (Miller & Josephs, 2009, p. 12) or Rakhmat (1989).
  12. References: References are written sequentially or alphabetically using the Reference Application (Mendeley) with style: American Psychological Association (APA). References can also be written using the Zotero application.

  1. All submitted papers are reviewed by the editor, editorial board, and blind reviewers.
  2. The editor has the right to reject manuscripts that do not comply with these guidelines.
  3. All URL addresses in the text are enabled.
  4. Names and email addresses entered on this journal site will be used exclusively for the purposes of this journal and will not be provided for any other purpose or to any other party.

 

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.

If this paper is accepted for publication, you will not be asked to pay an Article Publication Fee to cover publications costs.
