HUBUNGAN PENGGUNAAN MEDIA SOSIAL DENGAN INTERAKSI SOSIAL MAHASISWA JURUSAN BIMBINGAN KONSELING TAHUN 2016/2017 IAIN BATUSANGKAR

Abstract


The problem of the research was what was the correlation between the use of social edia and their social interaction. The purpose of the study was to figure out the correlation between the use of social media and their social interaction. This study was a correlational research where the use of social media was assigned as variable X and social interactions as variable Y. The population was all students of Guidance and Counselling Department of IAIN Batusangkar in 2016/2017 Academic Year while the samples were 80 students which were taken randomly. The data were collected by using questionaires to assess the use of social media and and social interactions and analyzed by means of Product Moment. The findings showed that there was high correlation and, therefore, the use of social media by the students correlated with their social interactions.
