IMPLEMENTATION OF PEER TUTORING TO IMPOVE STUDENTS’S LEARNING OUTCOME

Abstract


Teachers in schools usually employ methods that are less able to activate the
students' knowledge. As a consequence, many students having difficulty in learning
science and mathematics. Based on this problem, it is obviously neededthe
alternatives methods that allow students to construct their own knowledge. The
Method is peer tutoring. Using this method will encourage students‟ activity and
achievement. Some research indicated that the method of peer tutoring provides
significant influence on student learning outcomes. Peer tutoring is one form of
cooperative learning method that can be used to improve student learning outcomes,
because the application of peer tutoring on learning allows each student gets more
attention from the tutor and have plenty of time to talk or listen during lessons.
