PEMBUATAN SABUN DARI EKSTRAK DAUN SIRIH MERAH (PIPER CROCRATUM) DENGAN PENAMBAHAN TEA (TRI ETIL AMIN)

Abstract


The use of soap is one way to protect the skin from infection and prevent skin infections. Red betel (piper crocratum) is a plant that has a lot of antibacterial properties. Soap is a cleanser made by a chemical reaction between sodium hydroxide and fatty acids from vegetable oils or animal fats. The parameters between fatty acids and alkalis are important parameters in producing quality soap. Red betel leaf extract was carried out using maceration method using 70% alcohol solvent. Alkaloid test, flavonoid test, saponin test, terpenoid test, polyphenol test from the five tests produced only three which showed positive results, namely saponins, terpenoids and polyphenols. The formulated soap has a pH of 10. Testing of white and smelly organoleptics Like solid flower forms. Making soap with TEA functions as surfactant and foam stabilizer, surfactants are active surface-reducing compounds that are useful for uniting phase oils and liquid phases.
