PENGARUH MODEL TEAMS ASSISTED INDIVIDUALIZATION (TAI) TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN KOMUNIKASI MATEMATIS SISWA KELAS VIII SMP N 3 SITIUNG

Abstract


This research is motivated by the lack of student participation in learning, the students are not biased to develop their own ideas other than those described by teachers and students are less able in communicating the idea into the form of mathematics because of the difficulty of students imagining the problems given. Therefore this study aims to determine whether the mathematical communication skills of students with cooperative learning model type Teams-Assisted Individualization (TAI) is better than students' mathematical communication skills on conventional learning. This type of research is a quasi-experimental research, with a Randomized Control Group Design Only design study. The population in this study are all students of class VIII SMPN 3 Sitiung Academic Year 2018/2019 consisting of three classes. The sample in this research is the students of class VIII.B as the experimental class and VIII.C as the control class. The instrument used is the test of mathematical communication ability. Based on the result of the research, the students 'mathematical communication ability in the application of cooperative learning model of Teams-Assisted Individualization (TAI) type is better than the students' mathematical communication ability in conventional learning.
