Abstract


Facts show that theft of motor vehicles in parking areas is increasing every year. This is because security in the parking area still uses a manual system, namely by placing security officers in the parking area. This thesis aims to design a prototype of a motor vehicle security system in a parking area using RFID. which is integrated with the Arduino microcontroller, computer and database, so that it is expected to reduce the rate of motor vehicle theft in the parking area. This prototype is designed by using two RFID tags to identify users and vehicles entering the parking area. The RFID tag is read by the Arduino which is integrated with the computer then the data will be stored automatically in the database. Analysis of the performance of the prototype vehicle security system in the parking area based on the test results, namely the system can verify vehicle ownership which is a tag pair (1-1, match) in the database. The system is declared quite safe with no false positives and false negatives found in the test conditions carried out, with a maximum reading distance of 9 cm for the RFID reader.
