Focus and Scope

Al-Fikrah: Jurnal Manajemen Pendidikan is a peer-reviewed journal of original research and writing on Islamic education management and education management in general. The biannual journal, regularly issued in June and December, aims to provide a forum for scholarly understanding of the field of education and plays an important role in promoting the process that accumulates knowledge, values, and skills. The journal calls for research articles related to the following topics: 1.  Education Management, 2. Administration Management, 3. Accounting of Education Management, 4. Marketing of Education Management, 5. Education Development, 6. Education and Curriculum,  and 7. Education Philosophy.

Peer Review Process

Every manuscript submitted to Al-Fikrah is independently reviewed by at least two reviewers in the form of "double-blind review". Decision for publication, amendment, or rejection is based upon their reports/recommendation. In certain cases, the editor may submit an article for review to another, third reviewer before making a decision, if necessary.

 

Publication Frequency

Al-Fikrah Journal is published regularly 2 times a year in June and December. Al-Fikrah will publish ten articles in every times issues volume, and twenty articles in one volume.

Ethical Publications and Malpractice Statements

Al-Fikrah: The Journal of Management Education is a double-blind, peer-reviewed journal, published twice yearly by IAIN Batusangkar Graduate Program. It is an open access source available both online and in print. This statement explains the ethical behavior of all parties involved in the act of publishing articles in this journal, including authors, editor-in-chiefs, managing editors, editorial boards, reviewers, language advisors, IT managers and publishers. This statement is based on the COPE Best Practices Guidelines for Journal Editors.

Guide to Ethics for Journal Publications
Publishing articles in al-fikrah: The Journal of Educational Management is an important building block in the development of a coherent and respected network of knowledge. This is a direct reflection of the quality of the author's work and the institutions that support it. Double-blind journal articles, peer-reviewed support and embody scientific methods. It is therefore important to agree on the expected ethical standards of conduct for all parties involved in publishing actions: authors, editors, reviewers, language advisors, publishers, and the public. As a publisher, al-Fikrah: The Journal of Education Management performs its duties as the trustee of all stages of publication seriously and acknowledges other ethical and other responsibilities. Al-Fikrah: The Journal of Management Education is committed to ensuring that advertisements, reprints or other commercial revenue do not impact or influence editorial decisions.

Publication Decision
Editor al-Fikrah: The Journal of Management Education is responsible for deciding which articles submitted to the journal should be published. The validation of the work in question and its importance for the researcher and the reader should always encourage such a decision. The editors can be guided by the editorial board of the journal policy and are limited by legal requirements as applicable in the future because of defamation, copyright infringement, and plagiarism. Editors can talk with editors and other reviewers in making their decisions.

Screening Plagiarism
Basically the task of the author only sends manuscripts free of plagiarism and academic malpractice. The editor, however, double checks each article before it is published. The first step is to check plagiarism against offline databases developed by IAIN Batusangkar's Research and Public Service Center and, secondly, against as many online databases as possible.

The game is fair
An editor at any time evaluates manuscripts for their intellectual content irrespective of race, sex, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship or political philosophy of the author.

Confidentiality
Editors and any editorial staff may not disclose any information about manuscripts submitted to anyone other than potential authors, reviewers, reviewers, editorial advisors, and other publishers.

Disclosure and Conflict of Interest
Unpublished material disclosed in the submitted manuscript shall not be used in the research editors themselves without the written consent of the author.
Viewer's Tasks

Contribution to Editorial Decisions
Peer review helps editors in making editorial decisions and through editorial communication with authors can also assist authors in improving paper quality.

Confidentiality
Any elected referee who feels ineligible to review the research reported in a script or know that his short review will become unlikely to have to notify the editor and excuse himself from the review process.

Confidentiality
Any manuscript received for review should be treated as a confidential document. They should not be indicated or discussed with anyone other than those authorized by the editor.

Standards of Objectivity
Reviews should be done objectively. The author's personal criticism is not right. Referees should express their views clearly with supporting arguments.

Source Recognition
The reviewers should identify relevant published works that have not been cited by the author. Any statement that an observation, derivation, or argument has been previously reported must be accompanied by an appropriate quote. A reviewer should also call the editor's attention on the similarity or overlap between the manuscript being considered and other publication papers with personal knowledge.

Disclosure and Conflict of Interest
All authors must disclose in their text any conflicts of financial interests or other substantive interests that may be interpreted to influence the outcome or interpretation of their manuscripts. All sources of financial support for the project should be disclosed.

Fundamental Errors in Published Works
When an author finds significant errors or inaccuracies in his or her own work, the author's obligation to immediately notify journal or publisher editors and work with editors to retract or repair the paper.

 

Archiving

This journal utilizes the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration. More...

 

Publication Ethic and Malpractices Statement

Al-Fikrah: Jurnal Manajemen Pendidikan (Print ISSN: 2339-013, Online ISSN: 2549-9106) is a peer-reviewed journal, published twice a year by Fakulty of graduate programme Batusangkar. It is available online as open access sources as well as in print. This statement clarifies ethical behaviour of all parties involved in the act of publishing an article in this journal, including the author, the editor-in-chief, the Editorial Board, the reviewer, and the publisher. This statement is based on COPE’s Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors.

 

Publication Fee

This journal charges the following author fees.

Article Submission: 0.00 (USD)
Authors are NOT required to pay an Article Submission Fee. 

Article processing charges (APCs) / Article Publication Fee: 350000.00 (IDR)
This journal charges the article publication fee (with PayPal processing fee, is 6% of the amount) for supporting the cost of wide-open access dissemination of research results, managing the various costs associated with handling and editing of the submitted manuscripts, and the Journal management and publication in general, the authors or the author's institution is requested to pay a publication fee for each article accepted. The fee covers :

  • The standard of the first twelve (12) pages manuscript. For every additional page, an extra fee of 50000.00 (IDR) per page will be charged. 

  • DOI registration for each paper.

  • Checking the article similarity by iThenticate; the final result will be sent to authors (by request).

  • Layout Editing according to template and journal standard.

Please note that for papers submitted after 17 December 2022 an APC of 350000.00 (IDR) applies.

 

A waiver or partial waiver of author fees may be decided by the editor in case of lack of funding, excessive length of a submitted manuscript, or other reasonable reasons provided by the author during the submission. The author should clearly declare that he asks for a waiver in the comments to the Editor box during their submission. A waiver is most likely to be denied if it is not asked in this stage. The waiver will have no effect on the review result.
