Abstract

The importance of statistical literacy for students has a new impact on anxiety in statistics. This study aims to determine the impact of statistical anxiety to statistical literacy ablitity for 43 Guidance and Counseling students. This study uses simple linear regression to analyze the effect of statistical anxiety variables on students' statistical literacy ability. In addition, multiple linear regression is also used to analyze the effect of each construct of statistical anxiety variables partially. The results of the study showed that there was a significant influence between statistical anxiety variables on students’ statistical literacy ability. As many as 36.1% of students' statistical literacy ability variables were contributed by statistical learning anxiety variables. Based on the result, it takes a serious effort from statistics lecturer to reduce student anxiety.
